My handsome son
This is my new favorite photo of him!

Preschools in LA are very competitive and usually have waiting lists. I just got a call that Teo was accepted to the preschool I loved most! I toured and applied to several. I’m so relieved and excited! He starts half days in September. They don’t do diapers so we gotta crack down and start working on potty training!
The other morning Mateo woke up and said “Mommy, my tummy hurts. It’s broken!” I said “it is?” And he said “Yes, buy a new one!”
The other day I went to open the curtains downstairs and Teo said “Good morning Mr. Sun!” - I have no idea where he got that from but it was so cute.
During a recent bath he was playing with his rubber duckies and had the small one, the big one was behind him in the bubbles. He had the small one saying “Where my mudder (mother)?” Then he found the big one and said “Here is! Oh my baby ducky!” then made their beaks touch and said “awww duckies snuggling”
Mateo now knows the whole alphabet. He can recognize ALL the letters (randomly, out of order). He can sing the alphabet song and do a whole alphabet puzzle. He says “B, basket. M. MMMMMM. Moon!” etc while he does the puzzle and finds where the letters go. It’s pretty impressive!
He can also now count to 20 in English. He counts to 10 in Spanish. Yesterday he was holding up things and calling out the Spanish colors. Like a yellow lego, he said “amarillo!” or something blue “azul!”. He also knows verde, cafe, negro, blanco, rojo, naranja and for purple he says morado instead of violeta.
He’s talking like crazy, he says pretty much anything and everything now. When we see construction he yells “excavator!” He knows all the trucks in his truck book. He loves trains and cars and dinosaurs. He’s pretty well behaved, not many tantrums anymore. He asks to sit on the potty lately but doesn’t do anything. He finally says “I love you” and it’s the sweetest thing to hear. He’s a joy, I’m really enjoying this age. He doesn’t quite understand that there is a baby in mommy’s tummy - we’re working on it.
Yesterday we went to a 3D movie at Imax about underwater life and he kept reaching out and trying to touch the fish, it was so cute.
